Meet Dr. Tara G. Almquist, DAIM, L.Ac.
Acupuncture is Tara’s second career. Her first career, rooted in corporate culture, became unsustainable when Tara recognized and accepted a deep yearning to be of service. She began studying acupuncture at Pacific College of Health and Science in 2008 and has continued to pursue and develop her craft at prestigious institutions such as McMaster’s University in Hamilton, Ontario where she studied contemporary medical acupuncture under Dr. Alejandro Elorriaga Claraco MD, renowned sports medicine specialist. Most recently, Tara obtained her doctoral degree in integrative medicine from New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), the nation’s first professional school for the field of acupuncture.
Tara specializes in treating musculoskeletal pain, nerve pain, neuropathies, and a host of other health issues including but not limited to headaches, migraines, GI problems, menopausal symptoms, sleep issues, alopecia, stress, depression, and anxiety.
In 2014 Tara opened GenWell Acupuncture in hopes of helping people realize a better reality, an improved quality of life. Her wellness philosophy draws from her long history in personal growth and development, a lifelong pursuit to understanding the body, mind, and spirit. Yoga, Pilates, meditation, and rigorous study all contribute to her ability to provide patients with realistic lifestyle direction and results driven acupuncture treatments. She firmly believes acupuncture should be an accessible therapy for all people and strives to realize a healthcare system where acupuncture serves as the foundation of a whole-body approach to optimal health.
Your acupuncture experience is in exceptional hands with Dr. Tara G. Almquist.
